Ferroalloy Block (Line)
Ferroalloy blocks and cored wire for steelmaking, used for deoxidation, alloying and composition trimming, supplied to mill ratios.
For the steelmaking and continuous casting stages we supply metallurgical auxiliaries — ferroalloy blocks (cored wire) and casting powders — matched to steel grade, section and composition requirements.
Ferroalloys are used for deoxidation and alloying of liquid steel, while casting powders affect strand surface quality and caster smooth operation. We supply both to steel grade, section and process parameters, together with the relevant composition and quality documents.
For the steelmaking and continuous casting stages we supply the following two families of metallurgical auxiliaries.
Ferroalloy blocks and cored wire for steelmaking, used for deoxidation, alloying and composition trimming, supplied to mill ratios.
Casting powders for continuous casting moulds, providing lubrication, insulation and inclusion absorption, selected by steel grade and section.
Ferroalloys are used for deoxidation, desulphurisation and alloying of molten steel and are key auxiliaries for controlling steel composition. We supply both blocks and cored wire, matched to the mill's composition targets and addition method.

Casting powder melts in the mould to form a slag film and liquid slag layer, lubricating the shell, reducing sticking, providing insulation against oxidation and absorbing inclusions. Its basicity, melting temperature and viscosity must match the steel grade, section and casting speed.
| Project | Typical Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Basicity CaO/SiO₂ | 0.7 – 1.2 | Selected by steel grade |
| Melting Temperature | 1050 – 1200 ℃ | Affects liquid slag formation |
| Viscosity at 1300°C | 0.1 – 1.5 Pa·s | Affects lubrication and heat transfer |
| Applicable Steel Grades | Carbon structural steel, low-alloy steel, stainless steel, etc. | |
| Packaging | 25 kg laminated bags / jumbo bags, stored moisture-proof | |
We provide supporting supply built around the mill's actual process conditions, not just product delivery.
Most metallurgical products are customised items, produced after technical conditions are confirmed jointly with the mill's process department.
Below are questions customers frequently ask about our metallurgical products.
Yes. Basicity, melting temperature and viscosity must match the steel grade, section and casting speed. Carbon structural steel, low-alloy steel and stainless steel have different lubrication and heat-transfer requirements, and a mismatched powder can lead to sticker breakouts or surface defects.
Against the technical agreement confirmed by both parties — normally main element content, particle size distribution and impurity limits, with a composition certificate supplied with each lot. If the mill specifies a particular grade or size, this can be confirmed before ordering.
Yes. Both are consumables for the steelmaking and casting stages and can be scheduled and shipped together against the mill's production plan, reducing the number of separate contacts.
Ferroalloys and casting powders are standard materials and can usually be delivered relatively quickly depending on stock and scheduling. Where a specified composition or special particle size is required, production time must be allowed. Firm lead times are given once technical conditions are confirmed.
Normally a composition certificate and works inspection record; for casting powders, a physical and chemical test report covering basicity, melting temperature and viscosity. Third-party inspection can be arranged on request.
